Dr. Rachel Powers received her PhD from Northwestern University and completed post-doctoral training at Michigan State University in the areas of structural biology, X-ray crystallography, and biochemistry. She is currently a professor in the chemistry department at Grand Valley State University (Allendale, MI). Research in her lab focuses on the structure/function relationships of antibiotic resistance enzymes and how this information can be used to design novel inhibitors for them.
