Payal K. Patel, MD, MPH is an infectious diseases physician and the system wide director of antimicrobial stewardship at Intermountain Healthcare. She has expertise in infection prevention and national and global antimicrobial stewardship and also consults for the CDC. She is a voting member of the Presidential Advisory Council on Combatting Antibiotic Resistance and has appeared regulary during the pandemic on BBC, CBS, PBS and NPR.
