Dr. Elitza (Elli) Theel received her PhD in Medical Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and subsequently completed a Clinical Microbiology fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She is certified by the American Board of Medical Microbiology and is currently the Director of the Infectious Diseases Serology Laboratory and Co-Director of the Vector-Borne Diseases Service Line at Mayo Clinic. She is a Professor of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, also at Mayo Clinic. Here research interests include development and evaluation of novel methods for antibody and antigen detection as diagnostics, specifically for fungal and vector-borne diseases.
