Truc Tran, PharmD, BCPS, received her pharmacy degree at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy. She performed her Pharmacy Practice Residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Dr. Tran then completed her Infectious Diseases Pharmacotherapy Fellowship at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital and University of Houston College of Pharmacy. Her main areas of interest include antibiotic resistance and pharmacology.
Dr. Tran is currently a Research Scientist at the Houston Methodist Research Institue. She has described two novel mechanisms of antibiotic resistance in clinical important pathogens. Through her work, Dr. Tran hopes to dissect antibiotic-associated pathways to provide insights into bacterial physiology that could be exploited with novel pharmacological strategies and be translated to patient care.
